Crossroads Law Welcomes Edmonton Family Lawyer Ruban Satkunan
We're delighted to welcome Ruban Satkunan to our Edmonton team. His arrival marks another exciting step in our continued growth as we expand our ability to support more families across Alberta with their legal matters.
Drawing on his experience in criminal and civil litigation, Ruban brings strong advocacy and a broad litigation perspective to his practice. Recognizing that family disputes can have a profound impact, and that relationships often continue long after the legal conflict ends, he takes the time to understand each client's circumstances and develop strategies that align with their needs and priorities.
Wherever possible, he works toward negotiated resolutions that seek to reduce the financial and emotional cost of litigation. However, when court is necessary, he is an effective litigator who remains focused on helping clients achieve lasting resolutions that minimize future conflict and support their long-term goals.
Ruban's approach to family law is also informed by his background in human rights and public interest law. His work in these areas, including research examining the overrepresentation of Indigenous children in the child welfare system and his work with the Public Interest Law Centre, has given him a deeper understanding of the social and personal issues that often intersect with legal disputes. These experiences strengthened his ability to analyze complex issues, consider the wider impact of legal decisions, and provide well-reasoned advice.
