Corey Wutzke
Corey Wutzke is an articling student at Crossroads Law who brings a thoughtful, client-centred approach to family law. His background spans oil and gas, as well as agriculture, giving him a pragmatic understanding of the industries and realities that shape many of our Alberta clients’ lives. As a legal research assistant at a criminal defence firm, he prepared legal submissions at all levels of court in Alberta, including the court of appeal.
It was as a caseworker with Student Legal Assistance (SLA) that Corey worked directly with clients and developed the practical skills that underpin his work today. There, he managed a full caseload spanning family, civil, and criminal matters - appearing in court, drafting legal documents, and providing strategic assistance that moved matters forward. Corey’s work stood out and, in 2026, he was awarded the Alberta Court of Justice Award of Merit for his exceptional work with SLA. That recognition, supported by the court itself, reflects the calibre of advocacy he brings to the clients he represents.
Responsive Communicator, Thoughtful Advocate
Corey believes the best outcomes in family law come from understanding his clients' holistic needs. Family law is often at the centre of significant life transitions, and the decisions made during those moments have lasting consequences for everyone involved. He is committed to listening to his clients and building a path forward that reflects where they are and what matters most to them, while ensuring they remain informed and know what to expect at every stage. For many, that means exploring mediation or other forms of alternative dispute resolution, approaches that can protect relationships and lead to more sustainable outcomes. For others, effective litigation is the right answer. Corey is prepared for both and will meet each client where they are.
Outside the office, Corey enjoys staying active by spending time outdoors, in the gym or at ballroom dance. He is also an avid cyclist and motorcyclist who can often be found exploring the roads of Calgary.
