Crossroads Law is very excited to introduce their newest team member, Melissa Salfi. Melissa’s practice is devoted to Family Law as well as Fertility Law.
Melissa has a very impressive and versatile background that will be a strength for every client. With a background in Psychology, Melissa is committed to helping clients through any difficult emotional process with a sense of warmth and a desire to empower her clients during significant life transitions.
Melissa received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toronto and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2011. In 2017, she also qualified as a lawyer in Australia and worked in the media industry on high profile negotiations between major newspaper publications and complainants.
She has successfully represented clients in high-conflict parenting and child protection cases, as well as complex property and financial matters. From start to finish, Melissa ensures her family law clients understand the process and options available to them and are involved at every state of their case.
In addition to Family Law Services, Melissa offers Fertility Law services. This is an area that is growing in importance in Canada and we are so happy to be able to offer this service to our clients. Melissa’s fertility practice includes:
- Independent legal advice on fertility contracts to surrogates, donors and intended parents
- Donor agreements: sperm, egg, and embryo
- Surrogacy agreements for intended parents and surrogates
- Declaration of parentage court applications
- Disputes over frozen embryos
In her spare time, Melissa enjoys baking, yoga and travelling. She has lived in five countries and enjoys learning new languages and about other cultures.
