Compassionate and creative, Jade Liu is an articled student committed to developing tailored solutions that reflect the unique needs and values of each client and their family. She makes it a priority to ensure you feel heard and supported throughout what can be a stressful process, while keeping you consistently informed of your options every step of the way.

Having experienced a marriage breakdown within her family, Jade understands how cultural nuances and expectations can complicate an already difficult separation. She will advocate for your interests through collaborative and settlement-focused dispute resolution methods that aim to minimize emotional and financial strain. If an alternative method is not the best way forward, Jade is prepared to take your case to court to achieve the right outcome.

During her time in law school, Jade built upon her extensive background in analytical research and writing to form a solid foundation of practical legal skills. She received the Richard R. Sugden, QC Award in recognition of her outstanding achievement in advanced trial advocacy. She also spent a full semester as a clinician with the Rise Women’s Legal Centre, where she received training in family violence, mediation, and trauma-informed practice while she assisted women and non-binary clients with family law matters.

A firm believer in equity and diversity, Jade is a proud volunteer with the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers’ mentorship committee. Her ability to speak intermediate Mandarin allows her to better communicate with and assist clients, particularly during her work with community organizations that further access to justice like the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program and Amici Curiae Friends of Court.

Outside of the office, Jade is a published poet and a small art business owner. She loves to cross-stitch, lift weights, and spend time with her family and beloved cats, Anastasia and Misha.
