Cody P. Stokowski
Family Lawyer
Cody is a proud Albertan who grew up playing competitive hockey and went on to complete his undergraduate degree in Business Management Studies at the University of Alberta.
After his undergraduate studies, Cody decided to pursue a career in law and moved to Australia to complete his law degree.
Today, Cody is accredited to practice law in both Canada and Australia and has established himself as a highly respected family lawyer. He is currently working towards his Master of Laws (LLM) in International Taxation at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, further expanding his knowledge and expertise to better serve his clients.
Cody has been practising exclusively in family law since 2019. With a focus on opening communication channels, reducing conflict, and resolving matters in a pragmatic way. He strives to ensure relationships move forward with productive co-parenting and efficient issue resolution. If required, Cody’s litigation experience provides him with the skillset necessary to settle matters through effective advocacy.
Cody is an experienced family lawyer and has appeared in the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Alberta Court of King’s Bench on an array of matters including child mobility/relocation, parenting, Hague Convention international child abduction matters, child and spousal support claims, and complex matrimonial property division matters in Canada, the United Kingdom and elsewhere. He has working relationships with finance and tax experts who can assist business valuations, income assessment for support purposes, investing family property and financial assets, and cross-border tax filing issues.
Cody is committed to giving back to the community and has volunteered with Calgary Legal Guidance and provided pro-bono legal service at a commercial law clinic. He is an active member in the community and is a proud father.
